1. Data we collect about you
We collect certain data from you directly, like information you enter yourself. We collect data automatically, such as data about your consumption of content. We also receive data from third-party platforms, such as from our payment processors or if you connect a third-party platform when you register for an account.
Below, we detail the information we collect.
To use our platform, you’ll need to register for an account. To do so, you’ll need to provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, email address, and password.
You can also choose to provide profile information like a photo, headline, biography, or other data. Your profile data will be publicly viewable by others; for example, when you ask a question, other students and instructors can see your photo and user name.
Parts of the services let you interact with other users or share content publicly, for example by posting reviews about content, asking or answering questions, or sending messages to instructors. Such shared content may be publicly viewable by others, depending on where it is posted.
When you enroll in a course, we will collect personal information relating to your participation in the course, such as courses you have enrolled in, quiz results, lecture progress, and certifications.
To purchase a course, or other service through our Platform, you’ll need to provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, address, and information about the service you are purchasing. You may also need to provide certain payment-related information directly to our third party payment processors.

To offer our services, we make use of third party platforms.

We collect reviews on Trustpilot. When you enroll in a course or join our school, we may send your email, name, and purchase ID to Trustpilot, who will then contact you to request feedback on our products and Services.

If you ask a question in the comments section, your information (including your name) may be publicly viewable by other students.
4. Your Rights
Train in Data gives you choices with respect to our use of your personal information. These choices include accessing, updating, or deleting your personal information, as well as choosing what communications you would like to receive from us.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights related to your personal information (see the ‘Jurisdiction Specific Provisions’ section in Teachable's Pricavy Policy).
You can also choose not to provide us with certain personal information, but that may result in you being unable to use certain features of our Platform because that information may be required for you to register for an account, purchase our Services, enroll in our courses, get customer support, or engage in other activities on our Platform.
Accessing, Updating, and Deleting Your Personal Information
You can access and update certain personal information about you by visiting your Account Settings.
You can also submit a data privacy request to receive a copy of personal information that we hold about you, free of charge.
If you believe that any personal information we are holding about you is incorrect or incomplete, we will work with you to make corrections deemed necessary. Note that we may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
If you’d like us to delete your account or delete personal information we hold about you, you can submit a deletion request. Note that when we delete your account, personal information that you have shared with others (for example, through comments or an intake form) may still be visible. We will also retain certain personal information about you where reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations or for our legitimate business purposes.
Controlling Promotional Communications
You can opt out of receiving some or all of our promotional communications through the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.
If you opt out of promotional communications, we may still send you other communications, such as service announcements, administrative and legal notices, and information about your account, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of these communications.
